H.B. 180 Dangerous Weapons at Daycares and Schools (Stoddard, A.) Rep. Andrew Stoddard presented the bill. Clark Aposhian, Chair, Utah Shooting Sports Council, spoke in opposition to the bill. Kathy Adams, resident, spoke in favor of the bill. Rep. Shipp moved to hold HB0180S02. H.B. 413 Surplus Interconnection Service Amendments(Watkins, C.) Rep. Watkins with assistance from Josh Brown, The Pew Charitable Trusts, and Jon Cox, Principal, Utah Public Affairs, presented the bill. Dylan Munn, resident, spoke in favor of the bill. Rep. Albrecht moved to hold HB0413. H.B. 437 Environmental Permitting Amendments(Shallenberger, D.) Rep. David Shallenberger with assistance from Tim Davis, Executive Director, Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), and Mick Thomas, Director, Division of Oil, Gas and Mining (OGM), presented the bill. Mick Thomas, Director, OGM, spoke in favor of the bill. Rep. Jack moved to pass HB0437 out favorably. 2nd Sub. S.B. 135 Nuclear Reprocessing Amendments(Owens, D.R.) Sen. Derrin Owens with assistance from Tim Davis, Director, DEQ, presented the bill. Emy Lesofski, Director, Office of Energy Development (OED), spoke in favor of the bill. Nathan Hole, resident, spoke to the bill. Carmen Valdez, Senior Policy Associate, Healthy Environment Alliance of Utah (HEAL Utah), spoke in opposition to the bill. Rep. Jack moved to pass SB0135S02 out favorably. Rep. Shipp moved to adjourn. Chair Peterson adjourned the meeting at 9:15 AM.
