Recording 1 Chair Maloy called the meeting to order at 2:15 p.m. Rep. Matthews moved to approve the minutes of the January 22, 2025, meeting. H.B. 202 Acupuncturist Licensing Amendments(Chevrier, K.) Rep. Kristen Chevrier and James Mohebali, acupuncturist, Utah County, presented the bill and answered questions from the committee. Vice Chair Kyle assumed the chair. Tuesday Wasserman, acupuncturist, Colorado, spoke against the bill. Tyehao Lu, acupuncturist, Salt Lake City, spoke against the bill. Sharon Lockhart, acupuncturist, Layton, spoke against the bill and answered questions from the committee. Jeffrey Shumway, Director, Office of Professional Licensure Review, answered questions from the committee. Rep. Chevrier and James Mohebali answered questions from the committee. Chair Maloy moved to go to the next item on the agenda. Chair Maloy resumed the chair. HB0058 - Insurance Code Modifications Rep. Dunnigan and John Pike, Commissioner, Insurance Department, presented the bill and answered questions from the committee. Steven McCaffrey, National Director, American Association of Public Insurance Adjusters, spoke in favor of the bill. Cort Ashton, member, Utah Land and Title Association, spoke in favor of the bill. Rep. Ballard moved to adopt the 1st Substitute H.B. 58. Cochair Kyle moved to pass 1st Substitute H.B. 58 out favorably. Rep. Thurston moved to adjourn. Chair Maloy adjourned the meeting at 3:23 p.m.
