Recording 1 Chair Owens called the meeting to order at 8:36 a.m. Committee Business Sen. Sandall moved to approve the minutes of the June 16, 2026, meeting. Consideration of the Reappointment of Dennis Riding for the Waste Management and Radiation Control Board Dennis Riding, engineer and geologist, provided an opening statement and answered questions from the committee. Sen. Sandall moved to favorably recommend to the full Senate the reappointment of Dennis Riding to the Waste Management and Radiation Control Board. Consideration of the Reappointment of Mark Franc for the Waste Management and Radiation Control Board Mark Franc, Senior Manager, Waste Management of Utah, Inc., provided an opening statement and answered questions from the committee. Sen. Sandall moved to favorably recommend to the full Senate the reappointment of Mark Franc to the Waste Management and Radiation Control Board. Consideration of the Reappointment of Steven McIff for the Waste Management and Radiation Control Board Steven McIff, dentist, Utah County, provided an opening statement. Sen. Hinkins moved to favorably recommend to the full Senate the reappointment of Steven McIff to the Waste Management and Radiation Control Board. Consideration of the Appointment of Megan Hillyard for the Great Salt Lake Advisory Council Megan Hillyard, Director, Salt Lake County Administrative Services, provided an opening statement and answered questions from the committee. Sen. Sandall moved to favorably recommend to the full Senate the appointment of Megan Hillyard to the Great Salt Lake Advisory Council. Consideration of the Appointment of Lauren VanderWerff for the Air Quality Board Sen. Sandall assumed the chair. The committee discussed Lauren VanderWerff's absence. Other Items/Adjourn Sen. Stratton moved to adjourn. Chair Sandall adjourned the meeting at 9:25 a.m.
