Recording 1 Committee Business Chair Millner called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. Sen. Kwan moved to approve the minutes from the June 15, 2026, meeting. Appointment of Katherine Potter to the Department of Cultural and Community Engagement Katherine Potter introduced herself, discussed her background and qualifications, and responded to questions from the committee. Donna Law, Leader, One Utah Summit, spoke in favor of the appointment of Katherine Potter. Ron Fox, Commission Co-Chair, America250, spoke in favor of the appointment of Katherine Potter. Sen. Kwan moved to favorably recommend to the full Senate the appointment of Katherine Potter as the commissioner of the Department of Cultural and Community Engagement. Sen. Kwan moved to adjourn. Chair Millner adjourned the meeting at 10:20 a.m.
