Recording 1 Chair Owens called the meeting to order at 7:48 p.m. Committee Business Sen. Hinkins moved to approve the minutes of the May 18, 2026, meeting. Consideration of the Appointment of Neil Burk for the Board of the Utah Geological Survey Neil Burk, Senior Hydrogeologist, Barr Engineering, provided an opening statement and answered questions from the committee. Sen. Hinkins moved to favorably recommend to the full Senate the appointment of Neil Burk to the Board of the Utah Geological Survey. Consideration of the Appointment of Spencer Moffat for the School and Institutional Trust Lands Board of Trustees Spencer Moffat, partner, The Boyer Company, provided an opening statement. Sen. Stratton moved to favorably recommend to the full Senate the appointment of Spencer Moffat to the School and Institutional Trust Lands Board of Trustees. Consideration of the Appointment of Kelly Williams for the School and Institutional Trust Lands Board of Trustees Kelly Williams, Senior Counsel, Fervo Energy Company, provided an opening statement and answered questions from the committee. Sen. Hinkins moved to favorably recommend to the full Senate the appointment of Kelly Williams to the School and Institutional Trust Lands Board of Trustees. Consideration of the Appointment of Megan Hillyard for the Great Salt Lake Advisory Council The committee discussed Megan Hillyard's absence. Other Items/Adjourn Sen. Hinkins moved to adjourn. Chair Owens adjourned the meeting at 8:15 a.m.
